Engine inspections are a fleet problem, not a delay.
When engine inspections take aircraft out of service the gap is measured in months rather than weeks, and it lands on several airframes at once. That is a capacity problem rather than a maintenance one, and it needs replacing rather than rescheduling.
The scale is real. RTX has guided to an average of around 350 aircraft parked at any one time through the end of 2026, with groundings down roughly 40 per cent from the peak by the middle of that year. Availability is tighter than usual.
