An aircraft with
nobody to fly it

A wet lease brings the crew as well as the aircraft.

An aircraft grounded for want of crew is the same commercial problem as no aircraft at all. A wet lease solves both together, because the operator supplies the aircraft and both crews and flies the sector on its own certificate.

If the gap is cabin crew only, there is a narrower option. A damp lease is the same arrangement with you supplying the cabin, which airlines take when the cabin is the brand. Same aircraft, same maintenance, your own service standard on board.
